Printable labels for pantry jars

Decanting flour, sugar and pasta into jars shows at a glance what is left. Matching labels turn it into a pantry that looks tidy and where everyone finds the right jar straight away.

The list below is ready to go: baking staples with a second line such as “Flour | All-purpose”. Change any name, add jars and pick one of 12 designs, then print a true-to-size PDF.

Tips

Use the second line

Put the variety or the date bought on a second line after a vertical bar: “Rice | Basmati”.

Note the best-before date

Under “Options” add an extra line with a date or a blank to fill in, such as “Opened:”.

One text size for all

“Same text size” keeps every jar on the shelf looking alike, even when one name is longer.

Make them wipeable

Kitchen jars get damp. Waterproof label paper or a strip of clear tape over the label lasts longer.

Size and paper

For standard pantry jars (1 to 1.5 litres) “Large 70 × 45 mm” fits. Small jars suit “Medium 50 × 30 mm”, and lids a round Ø 50 mm label.

Frequently asked questions

Which paper do I need for pantry jar labels?

The easiest is full-sheet sticker paper that you cut after printing. Pre-cut sheets such as Avery 5163 need no scissors.

Will the labels stick to glass?

Yes, ordinary paper labels stick well to clean, dry glass. They are not dishwasher-safe, so peel them off first or use waterproof vinyl labels.

Can I use my own names instead of the list?

Yes. The list is only a starting point. In the editor you can change any line, delete names or type a whole new list.
